The 2020 Swoon Awards Semi-Finals Nominations Round

0 comments / 2020 Swoon Awards

Welcome to the semi-finals of The Swoon Awards!

Thank you all for your enthusiasm and participation in the first round of The Swoon Awards Nominations! It's been great talking books with all of our fellow romance lovers and seeing what books excited you in 2020. Speaking of talking books, did you see that the Swoonies team chatted with Andrea on the Shelf Love podcast? It was a fun discussion and we're grateful to Andrea for the opportunity.

In our inaugural year, we had 360 people vote in The Swoonies and we want to take this time to thank all 360 of you for joining us on this journey. There was a lot of data to sift through (luckily we have a data queen on our team) and we're ready to announce the semi-finalists. Just like the first round, there is one voting form per person so make sure you've thought over your answers before you click "submit".  Once you have submitted the form, you will not be allowed to make any changes.

Semi-Finals Round Rules & Regulations

❧ In each category, you MAY select up to a maximum of FIVE TITLES in the semi-finals round.

❧ You MAY skip categories if you do not want to vote in them.

Now for a timeline update ...

We've also decided that it's not fair to keep you all waiting for the announcements so we've adjusted the timelines slightly. We made this decision based on how the nominations came in. This semi-finals round will be open from January 4th  (today) to 11.59 PM EST on January 15th. The final round of voting will be from January 18th to January 29th and we hope to announce the winners the first week of February.

Announcing The 2020 Swoon Awards

0 comments / Announcement

Welcome to the very first annual Swoon Awards!

Are you exhausted from hearing about voting and elections? How about something a little more fun?

We (Amber, Lynell, Ari & Nick) have been working hard behind the scenes, setting up for these awards. The idea for The Swoon Awards came from a place of frustration at the lack of transparency and options in the Goodreads Choice Awards, particularly when it comes to romance. Romance is one of the most lucrative publishing genres and we think it deserves its own awards. We hope that you are as excited as us!

On this website, you will find all the necessary information. In the AWARD OVERVIEW tab, you will find a description of the process, the different categories you will be voting in, and the timeline. In the RULES & REGULATIONS tab, you will also find the list of nominations and voting rules. Feel free to take a look around and use the contact form in the sidebar to contact us if you have any questions or concerns.

Mark your calendars! The first nomination round opens next week:

November 16th, 2020 at 12 p.m EST

If you would like to receive email notifications, please subscribe to the blog using your email (see sidebar). You can also bookmark our website as well as follow us on Twitter.
Please also share the word on social media! We need all your help to make these awards a success and we look forward to celebrating all things romance with everyone. 😊
